Got a question? We've got answers.
Why does this app have a subscription?
Subscriptions allow me to continually add and improve features without charging separate fees or bundling them into a future paid upgrade. You get full access to all features, existing and new, without any additional costs.
Why does the timer start when I close my app?
This typically happens if you use a "toggle" automation in the Shortcuts app. If the timer was off, closing the app may trigger it to start. Switching to the advanced setup can prevent this from happening.
Why doesn't the timer start when I unlock my phone?
Due to how Shortcuts automations work, the timer won't run automatically upon unlocking your phone. To start the timer, close and reopen the app, or configure a different automation trigger.
Why does the timer reset every time it starts?
If the "Reset Timer" setting is set to a short duration, the timer will reset automatically after pausing. Increase that duration to prevent frequent resets. This option is only available with an Unlimited subscription.
How can I edit session data?
Go to the Break Check detail page and tap "Show All Data." You can remove individual session entries from there.
Why does the timer stop when I open the Notification Center?
There is a bug in iOS 17 that causes background tasks to stop when the Notification Center is opened. Updating to iOS 18 will resolve this issue.
Why doesn't the timer start when I open an app?
Occasionally, Shortcuts automations can get stuck. Try restarting your phone and then open the app again to see if the timer starts properly.
My automation doesn't work — I see a notification but the timer doesn't start
Check your automation settings in Shortcuts to ensure the automation runs immediately without asking for permission or confirmation.
Why do I see a list of Break Checks every time I open my app?
This happens if a specific Break Check wasn't selected in your automation. Reopen Shortcuts, select the Break Check you want to run automatically, and the prompt should no longer appear.
