• Health Data: Nutritional information you choose to sync with Apple Health

Important: This data remains on your device and is only transmitted to our AI service provider when you actively scan products or use the chat feature. We do not store this information on our servers.

We automatically collect limited, anonymized information that is not linked to any personal details or identifying information:

• Usage Data: Anonymous information about app features used and scan frequency
• Device Information: Generic device type and operating system version
• Log Data: Anonymous crash reports and error logs to help us improve app stability
• Analytics Data: Fully anonymized usage statistics that cannot be traced back to individual users

2.3 Additional Data Collection (Free Tier Only)

For free tier users only, we may also collect:

• Scan Data Samples: Anonymous samples of scanned product images to improve our AI accuracy and product recognition
• Chat Interactions: Anonymous chat conversations to enhance our AI assistant's responses and nutritional guidance

Important: This additional data is collected anonymously, cannot be linked to your identity, and is deleted when no longer needed for service improvement. Premium/paid users do not have scan or chat data collected.

When you scan a product or use the chat feature, your scan images and questions are temporarily forwarded to our AI service provider for analysis. This data:

• Is processed in real-time and not permanently stored by us
• Is subject to the AI provider's own privacy policies and data handling practices
• Cannot be linked back to your personal identity

4.2 Analytics Providers

We work with analytics providers who receive only anonymized, non-personal data:

4.3 Service Improvement Data (Free Tier Only)

For free tier users, anonymous samples of scan and chat data may be collected to improve our AI and service quality. This data:

• Is deleted when no longer needed for service improvement

All service providers are contractually obligated to protect any information they receive and use it only for the services they provide to us.

• Device-Based Storage: Your personal data, scan history, and preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms
• No Server Storage: We do not maintain copies of your scans, chat history, or personal preferences on our servers

5.2 Data Transmission Security

• Encryption: All data transmitted to our AI service provider is encrypted using TLS/SSL protocols
• Temporary Processing: Scan data sent to AI providers is processed in real-time and not retained

Note: No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information through industry-standard practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Our data retention practices reflect our privacy-first approach:

• Local Data: Your scan history, preferences, and personal information remain on your device until you delete the app or manually clear your data. We have no access to or control over this data.
• AI Processing Data: Images and queries sent to our AI provider are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored by NutriSnap
• Analytics Data: Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely for research and improvement purposes, but cannot be linked to any individual user
• Service Improvement Data (Free Tier Only): Anonymous samples of scan and chat data are retained only as long as needed to improve our AI and service quality, then permanently deleted
• Legal Requirements: In rare cases, anonymized data may be retained longer if required by law

Data Deletion: Since your personal data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control. Simply delete the app or use the in-app data clearing feature to remove all your information.

7. Children's Privacy

NutriSnap is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you are under 13, please do not use NutriSnap or provide any information about yourself.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will:
