What is NutriSnap? +
NutriSnap is an AI-powered nutrition analysis app that allows you to scan any food package and receive instant, personalized nutritional insights. Unlike traditional nutrition apps that rely on databases, NutriSnap uses advanced AI to read and analyze nutrition facts and ingredients directly from your photos, providing customized recommendations based on your unique dietary needs, allergies, and health goals.
Is NutriSnap free to use? +
NutriSnap offers both free and premium features. The free version allows you to scan products and receive basic nutritional analysis. Premium features include unlimited scans, advanced chat functionality, detailed ingredient analysis, and more personalized recommendations.

Scanning & Analysis

What should I include in my scan photo? +
For best results, ensure your photo includes both the Nutrition Facts panel and the Ingredients list. These are typically found on the back or side of food packages. Make sure the text is in focus and well-lit. You don't need to include the barcode, product name, or front of the package, though you can if you'd like.
Can I scan products in any language? +
Yes! NutriSnap can read and analyze nutrition labels in multiple languages. The app will automatically detect the language and provide the analysis in your preferred language. This is perfect for international travel or when shopping at specialty stores.
Do I need a barcode to scan? +
No! Unlike other nutrition apps, NutriSnap doesn't require a barcode or database lookup. Our AI directly reads and analyzes the nutrition facts and ingredients from your photo. This means you can scan any packaged food from anywhere in the world, even if it's not in any database.
What if my scan doesn't work? +
If your scan isn't working, try these tips:
  • Ensure good lighting and avoid shadows or glare
  • Hold your phone steady and keep the text in focus
  • Make sure both the Nutrition Facts and Ingredients are visible
  • Flatten curved or wrinkled packaging if possible
  • Clean your camera lens if the image appears blurry
If you're still having trouble, you can retake the photo or contact our support team. If a paid credit was used for an unsuccessful scan, it will be automatically returned to your account.
How accurate is the nutritional analysis? +
NutriSnap uses advanced AI to extract and analyze nutritional information with high accuracy. However, the quality of the analysis depends on the clarity of your photo. For the most accurate results, ensure the nutrition label is clearly visible and readable in your scan.
What is the Fair Usage Policy? +
Our Fair Usage Policy exists solely to protect our users from fraudulent activity and abuse that could impact service quality. It is not designed to limit or restrict normal usage in any way, if you're using your subscription as intended, you will never be affected by it. As an unlimited plan subscriber, you can continue using the service freely and without worry.

Profile & Personalization

Can I have multiple dietary goals? +
Absolutely! NutriSnap allows you to set multiple goals and preferences. For example, you can be focused on weight loss while also building muscle, or you might want to avoid sugar while increasing protein intake. The app will consider all your preferences when analyzing products.
How do I add custom allergies or restrictions? +
In your profile settings, you need to first enable sensitive restrictions. Once enabled, you'll be able to add allergies, intolerances, cultural needs, and dietary restrictions. Simply add any ingredient or food group you want to avoid, and NutriSnap will flag products containing these items during analysis.
Can I change my preferences later? +
Yes! Your preferences can be updated at any time from your profile settings. Any changes will immediately apply to all future scans. Your previous scans will retain their original analysis based on your preferences at that time.

Features & Functionality

What is the chat feature? +
The chat feature allows you to ask detailed questions about any scanned product. Think of it as having a personal nutritionist in your pocket! You can ask about specific ingredients, serving sizes, how the product fits your diet, and much more. The AI considers both the product information and your personal profile when answering.
How does Apple Health integration work? +
NutriSnap can seamlessly log nutritional information to Apple Health. After scanning a product, you'll see an option to "Log to Apple Health." With one tap, the nutrition data (calories, macros, vitamins, etc.) is added to your Health app. You can choose which nutrients to track in your settings. NutriSnap also reads your current weight from Apple Health (with your permission), so your profile is always up to date without requiring manual updates.
Can I view my scan history? +
Yes! All your scans are saved in your history, which you can access from the main menu. You can review past analyses and quickly access frequently scanned items without rescanning. You can also save scans to groups for easy organization and retrieval.

Troubleshooting

The app won't access my camera +
If NutriSnap can't access your camera, you need to grant camera permissions:
  • Open your iPhone Settings app
  • Scroll down and tap "NutriSnap"
  • Tap "Camera" and select "Allow"
  • Return to NutriSnap and try again
My analysis is taking a long time +
Analysis typically takes 3-10 seconds. If it's taking longer:
  • Check your internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data)
  • Ensure you have the latest version of the app
  • Try closing and reopening the app
  • If the issue persists, the image may be unclear — try rescanning with better lighting
I can't connect to Apple Health +
To enable Apple Health integration:
  • Open iPhone Settings
  • Tap "Health" then "Data Access & Devices"
  • Find NutriSnap in the list
  • Toggle on the nutrition categories you want to share
You can also manage these permissions within the NutriSnap app settings.
The app keeps crashing +
If you're experiencing crashes:
  • Ensure you're running the latest version of NutriSnap
  • Update your iOS to the latest version
  • Force close the app and restart it
  • If problems persist, try deleting and reinstalling the app
  • Contact our support team if the issue continues
How do I report a bug or issue? +
We appreciate bug reports! You can:
  • Use the "Provide Feedback" option in the app settings
  • Email us at [email protected] with details about the problem
  • Include screenshots if possible
  • Mention your device model and iOS version
